Frequently asked questions
Most children can begin as early as 3 or 4 years old, depending on maturity and attention span. We encourage you to bring them in for a free trial to see if classes are a good fit for them.
Absolutely no experience required! We have classes for all levels, including complete beginners. As a new student you would begin your journey in a welcoming class geared towards beginner karate students.
We recommend 2-3 times per week, but with our flexible schedule you could attend every day if you'd like.
Yes. Classes are divided by age-adults/teens and kids as well as by rank. This lets us challenge everyone and helps students achieve their goals.
At a beginner level we teach Shotokan karate. That being said, our curriculum is vast and classes will include striking, trapping, throwing, pad work and partner work.
Yes. All of our classes include lessons on blocking, striking and takedowns. Our students develop powerful techniques through pad work and partner work in practical situations. As students progress they also practice sparring in a safe, but challenging, environment.
No. Unlike the common practice of charging for belt tests, all of our belt tests are included in our tuition.
You can begin martial arts training at any age. In fact, the flexibility, balance and coordination that karate emphasizes is an excellent reason to start karate as an adult. Classes can be modified to accommodate your training.
Yes. We run March Break and Summer camps. These camp are excellent and are always popular. New students are welcome to participate.
We combine traditional values with modern instruction, emphasizing confidence, respect, and personal growth. Our instructors are highly experienced, and we create a welcoming atmosphere for all students.
